BIOGRAPHY

Accordionist and bandoneonist, Marion Chiron has been invited to perform alongside prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de Bretagne, DÉMOS Philharmonie de Paris, the Helsinki and Luxembourg Chamber Orchestras, the Symphonie de Poche (Folles Journées de Nantes 2025), as well as with the Ensembles Intercontemporain and Multilatérale. She regularly collaborates with conductors such as Klaus Mäkelä and Leonhard Garms.

​​​At the intersection of classical, contemporary, and improvised music, Marion performs in France and abroad as part of various chamber music ensembles, such as the CHIRON–STROMBONI duo, the Fleurs Noires Chamber Orchestra, and the Tangomotán Quartet (2016–2025). She accompanies artists such as Sanseverino, Bachar Mar-Khalifé, Marcel Khalifé, and Daniel Melingo. She has released six albums to date.

Committed to multidisciplinary artistic work, Marion collaborates with various prestigious directors such as Jean Bellorini (Le Suicidé; Tempête sous un crâne) and Mélodie-Amy Wallet (Martin Éden). She has participated in various opera productions, including Francesco Filidei’s L’Inondation with Joël Pommerat; Bruno Mantovani’s Le Voyage d’Automne and Mieczysław Weinberg’s La Passagère. Her experience has led her to perform at numerous national stages and theaters, as well as to contribute to contemporary artistic creation within the prison system, including juvenile detention centers (EPM).

In 2021, she founded Les Bouffées Musicales, a collective of professional artists and technicians dedicated to serving communities affected by cultural and social exclusion. As artistic director, she spearheaded a festival and a rigorous arts and cultural education program. She receives support from the Ministry of Culture, the DRAC, and the Région Île-de-France, SPEDIDAM and the Tokyo Foundation of Policy Research...

​​Marion holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, with support from the Safran Corporate Foundation for Music. In 2020, she studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) as a performing artist specializing in contemporary repertoire and new works (Artist Diploma 2020–2022).​ During her studies, she received guidance from figures such as Mika Väyrynen, Matti Rantanen, Veli Kujala, Teodoro Anzellotti, Geir Draugsvoll, Marko Ylönen, Jacques Zoon, Juanjo Mosalini, Vincent Ségal, Richard Galliano, and Vincent Peirani (Villecroze Music Academy in 2015, 2016, and 2018).
